Allow the End-user to:

  1. Select a Protection Job at Request Time
  2. Recover Files and Folders
  3. Change Protection Job

Select a Protection Job at Request Time

  1. Login to the vRA tenant
  2. Click on the Design tab > Blueprints
  3. Hover over the desired blueprint name and click Edit
    1. Click on the vSphere machine component on the Blueprint Design Canvas
    2. Click on the Properties tab
    3. In the Property Groups section:
      1. Add the vRA property group for Cohesity Backup as a Service: SovLabs-CohesitySelectProtectionJob
      2. Add the vRA property group for Cohesity Backup Profile that had the templated Protection Job defined:
        • Starts with SovLabs-Cohesity-

Repeat Step 3 for all desired blueprints


Recover Files and Folders

Allow the end-user to see the Recover Files and Folders (Cohesity) Day2 action on a VM

Add Recover Files and Folders (Cohesity) for Entitlements
  1. Login to the vRA tenant
  2. Click on Administration > Catalog Management > Entitlements
  3. Click on a desired entitlement to edit
  4. Click on the Items & Approvals tab
  5. Click on the next to Entitled Actions
  6. For the Name field, type in “Cohesity” as the search text to get all related actions
  7. Select the Recover Files and Folders (Cohesity) action
  8. Click OK to entitle the action and make it available for end-users
  9. Click Finish to save the entitlement

Remove Recover Files and Folders (Cohesity) for Entitlements
  1. Login to the vRA tenant
  2. Click on Administration > Catalog Management > Entitlements
  3. Click on a desired entitlement to edit
  4. Click on the Items & Approvals tab
  5. In the Entitled Actions column, find the Recover Files and Folders (Cohesity) action to remove
  6. Click on the and then click Remove
  7. Click Finish to save

Change Protection Job

Allow the end-user to see the Change Protection Job (Cohesity) Day2 action on a VM

Add Change Protection Job (Cohesity) for Entitlements
  1. Login to the vRA tenant
  2. Click on Administration > Catalog Management > Entitlements
  3. Click on a desired entitlement to edit
  4. Click on the Items & Approvals tab
  5. Click on the next to Entitled Actions
  6. For the Name field, type in “Cohesity” as the search text to get all related actions
  7. Select the Change Protection Job (Cohesity) action
  8. Click OK to entitle the action and make it available for end-users
  9. Click Finish to save the entitlement

  1. Login to the vRA tenant
  2. Click on Administration > Catalog Management > Entitlements
  3. Click on a desired entitlement to edit
  4. Click on the Items & Approvals tab
  5. In the Entitled Actions column, find the Change Protection Job (Cohesity) action to remove
  6. Click on the and then click Remove
  7. Click Finish to save

Instant Backup

Allow the end-user to see the Instant Backup (Cohesity) Day2 action on a VM

Add Instant Backup (Cohesity) for Entitlements
  1. Login to the vRA tenant
  2. Click on Administration > Catalog Management > Entitlements
  3. Click on a desired entitlement to edit
  4. Click on the Items & Approvals tab
  5. Click on the next to Entitled Actions
  6. For the Name field, type in “Cohesity” as the search text to get all related actions
  7. Select the Instant Backup (Cohesity) action
  8. Click OK to entitle the action and make it available for end-users
  9. Click Finish to save the entitlement

Remove Instant Backup (Cohesity) for Entitlements
  1. Login to the vRA tenant
  2. Click on Administration > Catalog Management > Entitlements
  3. Click on a desired entitlement to edit
  4. Click on the Items & Approvals tab
  5. In the Entitled Actions column, find the Instant Backup (Cohesity) action to remove
  6. Click on the and then click Remove
  7. Click Finish to save

Recover Virtual Disk

Allow the end-user to see the Recover Virtual Disk (Cohesity) Day2 action on a VM

Add Recover Virtual Disk (Cohesity) for Entitlements
  1. Login to the vRA tenant
  2. Click on Administration > Catalog Management > Entitlements
  3. Click on a desired entitlement to edit
  4. Click on the Items & Approvals tab
  5. Click on the next to Entitled Actions
  6. For the Name field, type in “Cohesity” as the search text to get all related actions
  7. Select the Recover Virtual Disk (Cohesity) action
  8. Click OK to entitle the action and make it available for end-users
  9. Click Finish to save the entitlement
