Item Admin
Import vRA Catalog Item
1. Select SovLabs > Import vRA Catalog Item

2. Fill out the form accordingly and select an appropriate vRO server
3. Select a Catalog Item (you may have to wait for the options to populate)
4. Select a ServiceNow Workflow
- The workflow does not need to specifically be SovLabs - Request vRA Catalog Item
- Any custom workflow chosen needs have SovLabs - Request vRA Catalog Item as a subflow (for approvals, notifications, etc, and at the time the provisioning is to be done).

5. An optional Checkbox Business Group Override is available. This allows the a variable to be mapped into the ServiceNow Catalog item that can be used to change the Business Group from the one originally used to import the blueprint.
- The Value provided in ServiceNow for the variable should be the subtenantRef value from vRealize for the desired Business Group.

6. Click Load Request Form

7. Once the Catalog Item form loads, select fields to be presented to the user
8. Click Import Catalog Item

9. Make any changes needed to the newly created Catalog Item


Modify Catalog Item Mapping
Allows for admins to add a constant and/or map to existing variables
1. Select SovLabs > Modify Catalog Item Mapping
2. Wait for form fields to load completely
3. Modify as necessary
4. When selecting or updating a selected field, the dropdown will include all Variables set up on the Catalog Item
- Any new Variable(s) must be set up prior to on the Catalog Item
5. If selecting Constant, the field can be templated using the SovLabs Template Engine
6. Click Update Catalog Item Mapping
Advanced
vRA Form Field Dictionary
Modifies the field list on the Import/Modify Catalog Item requests
- Click on SovLabs > vRA Form Field Dictionary
- Click New
- Name: the vRA Catalog Item request form field name
- Label: the desired label to display in ServiceNow
- Select whether or not to display this field
- Save
vRA Form Field Display Rules
Set rules to show or hide certain sections of a Import/Modify Catalog Item form
- Click on SovLabs > vRA Form Field Display Rules
- Click New
- Catalog Item ID: Defaults to ALL. The vRA Catalog Item ID (found via vRA tenant, the
catalogItemID
parameter found in the URL of the vRA Catalog Item) - Regex: Text to match in the form property name field or parent name field
- Example:
vSphere__vCenter__Machine_2
will remove all parent and property name fields starting withvSphere__vCenter__Machine_2
- Example:
